Notes from Director:

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year and thank you for visiting our Collaborative Education Wiki page.  You now have the opportunity to collaborate with teachers across the county within your grade level sharing lesson plan information and documents to further enhance student education.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to share the wealth of knowledge that our county has to offer.  This school year brings several new aspects to Duplin County Schools’ Elementary Education program.  We are implementing a new K-2 literacy assessment which  further enhances the previous model.  All K-2 teachers are being provided with necessary materials and training to effectively assess our students and make good use of data provided by the assessments. 

This school year we also introduced a new math adoption to the K-5 curriculum.  Envision Math is a program which incorporates technology and hands on instructional strategies to contribute to student success.  Representatives from each school were trained on the use of this textbook and returned to their respective schools to train their grade level on its use.
